About Island Noodles

Steam rising off a wok and the smell of hot noodles at the window. People come for our traditional Hawaiian yakisoba noodle dish, simple and filling, and often add the chicken. I keep the line moving. I run a compact setup built for fairs, concerts, and private events, so service at your site is straightforward. We offer a vegan base that many customers choose, complete with the option of teriyaki chicken or our gluten free slaw. Portions are honest, served in fully compostable oyster pails, to eat standing or to take back to a table. I don’t over-polish things here, it’s a food truck after all, but I make sure orders are consistent and served hot. You’ll see us at food truck festivals and events around Michigan, Illinois, Texas, and Louisiana. If you need us for on-site catering I can bring the truck and the same menu that people line up for. Simple menu choices, clear options for special diets, precision knife skills, a steady wok, and most of all a fantastic flavor is what people remember.

Meet the owner

Jeremy Rowe

Owner, Island Noodles

I was neck deep in steam and smoke at an art fair when a kid ran up and asked if he could watch me cook, then his mom came back with three more people asking where they could find this again. That was the day this stopped being a hobby and became my work. I’m Jeremy Rowe, I run Island Noodles out of Sylvania, Ohio, and most weekends you’ll find me chasing busy festivals and fairs, changing the whole mood of a square when the line builds. I like the rhythm of a service rush and the small puzzles of making the next event cleaner and faster. We’ve taken Island Noodles to events around the country, even places like Texas and Chicago, and I still show up early, stick to what works, and try to leave every crowd a bit happier than when they arrived.

When to Book

Recommended lead time
15–30 days before your event

The further ahead you book, the more trucks you'll have to choose from. Planning ahead is the best way to secure your top pick.

That said, shorter timelines work too—we book events just days out all the time. You'll just have fewer options to choose from.

Busy seasons: Spring and Fall are our most popular times in Detroit, so booking early gives you the best selection.

Most trucks bring their own power and water. Confirm any hookups with Island Noodles when you book.

What does Island Noodles serve?
Island Noodles serves Asian.Popular menu items include Island Noodles Vegan (16 oz), Island Noodles With Teriyaki Chicken (16 oz) and Island Slaw Gluten Free With Teriyaki Chicken (20 oz). Most servings run about $15 before tax. The full menu with current prices is above.
Is there a minimum order or guest count?
Yes, Island Noodles has a minimum order of $3,000, which works out to roughly 200 servings at this menu's prices. This minimum covers essential costs including food preparation, staffing, travel to your Detroit location, and setup time. For smaller gatherings, consider the attendee-pay option where guests purchase their own meals.
What is included in the catering price?
Your quote from Island Noodles includes food preparation, serving supplies (plates, utensils, napkins), the truck's staff, setup and breakdown, and travel within the Detroit service area. The per-serving prices on this page already include Food Truck Club's service fee; sales tax is added and the complete total is shown before you confirm.
How far in advance should I book Island Noodles?
Fifteen to thirty days gives you the best shot at your first-choice date, and shorter timelines work too. Food trucks in Detroit book up fastest in spring and fall, and events with 100+ guests benefit from a little extra notice for menu planning and staffing.
What types of events does Island Noodles cater?
Island Noodles is new to Food Truck Club, so there are no platform bookings to show yet. Corporate lunches, employee appreciation days, community festivals, school and university events, and private celebrations around Detroit are all bookable from this page.
Where does Island Noodles serve?
Island Noodles is based in Detroit, MI and takes bookings across Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Livingston, Monroe, St. Clair, Lapeer, Genesee and Lenawee Counties. Travel inside that area is part of the quote; for a venue outside it, submit the request and the truck will confirm whether it can make the trip.
Do you offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or allergy-conscious options?
Island Noodles lists vegan options, vegetarian options, dairy-free options and gluten-free options on its profile. Include a count for each in your booking request so the truck preps enough, and flag any allergies at the same time.
Do I need to provide any utilities (power or water)?
Usually not. Most food trucks arrive with their own generator, water tank, and cooking equipment, so a flat, accessible parking spot of roughly 12 by 25 feet is all they need. Some trailers and dessert carts do run on an outlet, so mention what your venue offers and Island Noodles will confirm any hookups before the event.
What happens in case of bad weather or cancellation?
Rescheduling is the usual answer when weather turns, and we work with you and the truck to find a date. If the event has to be cancelled, the refund follows the cancellation policy above.
