Pops Eats On The Streets was built from family, hard work and refusing to quit. We’ve been knocked down, but we keep showing up because this means more to us than food—it’s Pops’ legacy. When you book our truck, you’re supporting our family and becoming part of our story.
Meet The Owner, Michael Karpinski
My name is Mike, and I’m the guy behind Pops Eats On The Streets and Pops Place. The name “Pops” comes from my grandfather—the man who stepped up, raised me as his own, and had a huge impact on the person I became. What started as a small candy store eventually turned into something much bigger. After losing the store during COVID, we took our little sweets truck, turned it into a food truck, and kept moving forward. Today, I’m proud to run the food truck, operate Pops Place on Selfridge Air Base, cater events, and serve communities throughout Michigan. I’m a husband, a dad, and a small-business owner who has learned that nothing comes easy. There have been plenty of long days, setbacks, mistakes, and times when quitting would have been easier—but that’s just not who we are. Everything with the Pops name is personal to me. It represents where I came from, the man who raised me, my family, and the legacy I’m trying to continue.
