About Atlanta Pizza Truck
Atlanta Pizza Truck is the world's first food truck certified by the AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana), certification #900 — the exact temperature our Italian wood-fired oven hits to cook an authentic Neapolitan pizza in about 90 seconds, made live in front of guests. Our truck is a restored 1986 Piaggio Ape imported from Italy. Beyond pizza, we serve Nonna's-recipe meatballs, gelato, and coffee, and cater weddings, corporate events, private parties, and festivals across Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. We've been featured on Netflix, CNN, FOX 5, and in Forbes and PMQ/National Pizza Magazine.
Meet The Owner, Alessio Lacco
Alessio Lacco is a Naples-born, AVPN-certified master pizzaiolo, trained under Gaetano Esposito — grandson of the pizzaiolo who created the original Margherita pizza for the Queen of Italy. Alessio has been AVPN-certified since 2012. He launched Atlanta Pizza Truck in March 2020 after being laid off at the start of Covid, when he started cooking Neapolitan pizzas for his neighbors — that grew into the first AVPN-certified mobile pizzeria in the world.
