In 2014, the Hero or Villain food truck was launched in the Metro Detroit area. Since then, Richard and his team of superhumans have been serving up sandwiches with a side of nostalgia everywhere they can. This super-powered concept has become a regular at rallies in Cadillac Square, Eastern Market, Ann Arbor, Royal Oak and Ferndale. In 2019, Hero Or Villain was listed as one of the top 25 food trucks in America, by Food Network.

Before starting Hero or Villain, Richard had a decade of employment as an event manager in Chicago with his father’s business, Special Events Management. Richard has created events from concept to execution, giving him familiarity with project timelines, maintaining a budget, media campaigns, and government correspondence. Due to the seasonality of outdoor events in Chicago, Richard found additional employment in college at the on-campus cafeteria, run by Sodexo. It was during his college career that Richard felt the passion for cooking come to life. In his 5 years of college, Richard worked in various roles for Sodexo, including helping to develop a new food establishment on campus.
