Meet The Owner, Robert Uchewuakor
The first time I sold a skirt steak out of a folding table at a local block party I realized people would stand in line for food that felt honest and simple. That was the start of D cave, A Taste Above The Rest, and most days I am still the one manning the window, sweating over the grill and laughing with customers who come back every week. I grew up cooking at home, learning how small changes could turn a plain meal into something worth talking about. My name is Robert Uchewuakor and running this truck in the 77077 area taught me how to handle everything that comes with it, the good and the messy. I show up early, fix things that break, and try to treat everyone like a regular. What keeps me going is that feeling when someone takes a bite and tells me it hits right.
