"Josie was my representative and she was VERY easy to work with! She set me up with 6 trucks since we were serving 800 people and on a tight schedule. I could not have had a better experience! I would give 10 stars if I could."

Most Popular Cuisines for New York Events

The city's street food and its international range

Halal and Mediterranean

Chicken and lamb over rice, falafel, shawarma and grain bowls. The city's signature street food, and the easiest way to cover halal, vegetarian and vegan guests at once.

Tacos and Latin American

Street tacos, birria, pernil, empanadas and mofongo. The fastest-moving line at any event and the most requested truck for graduation parties.

Pizza and Italian

Wood-fired pies and New York slices. The easiest single-truck booking for a crowd of every age, from a Staten Island backyard to a Hudson Valley barn.

Asian Street Food

Dumplings, bao, Korean fried chicken and noodle bowls for teams and parties that want variety.

Caribbean and Soul Food

Jerk chicken, oxtail, patties and fried fish. Block-party favorites across Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.

Desserts and Ices

Italian ices, soft serve, cannoli and churros. A dessert truck pairs with a main truck for afternoons, weddings and summer outings.

Event Types

Catering for Every Celebration

Whatever you're celebrating across Greater New York, there's a truck for it

Weddings and Receptions

Brooklyn warehouse venues and rooftops, Hudson Valley barns and farms, Hamptons and North Fork estates, Jersey Shore venues in Red Bank and Long Branch, and Fairfield County estates. A late-night taco or pizza truck after the reception has become a New York tradition.

Graduation Parties

Dozens of colleges plus the high schools of Long Island, Westchester and North Jersey make late May and June one long open-house season. A truck feeds a backyard crowd that arrives in waves.

Company Outings and Summer Parties

Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Long Island City waterfront, Hudson Yards and Chelsea Piers, Governors Island, Liberty State Park, and multi-truck lineups on suburban office campus lawns from Parsippany to Stamford.

Birthday and Milestone Parties

Backyard parties in Montclair, Scarsdale and Garden City, milestone birthdays in Manhattan event spaces, and family reunions from Staten Island to the Hudson Valley.

Block Parties and Community Events

Multi-truck setups for closed streets in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx under a Street Activity Permit, parish festivals, town days across New Jersey and Connecticut, and neighborhood association events.

Sports and Tailgate Events

Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Islanders and Devils watch parties, Giants and Jets tailgates at MetLife, US Open gatherings in late August, and Marathon Sunday parties in early November.

Apartment and HOA Resident Events

Resident appreciation nights and summer socials for Long Island City and Jersey City towers, Hudson Yards buildings and suburban communities, host-paid or attendee-paid.

Holiday Parties

December celebrations served from covered docks and garages, when winter weekdays offer the best truck availability of the year.

Why Food Trucks for Your New York Event?

Catering your guests will actually talk about

Made to Order, in Front of Guests

Every plate comes off the truck hot. No chafing dishes, no cold trays, and the truck itself becomes part of the event, whether it is parked on an Industry City courtyard or a Hudson Valley farm lane.

New York Flavors

This is the city of halal carts, dollar slices, dumplings, Dominican and Puerto Rican cooking, Caribbean jerk and Italian ices. Build a lineup from what New York actually eats and your guests recognize it immediately.

One Coordinator, Every Detail

Vendor selection, building insurance certificates, Street Activity or Parks permits, dock windows, arrival timing and a day-of contact. You host; we run the logistics.

Four-Season Ready

New York weather is part of the plan. Covered loading areas, garage placements and indoor-adjacent setups keep winter and rain dates on track, and summer rooftops and waterfronts get a shaded service line.

How Event Catering Works

From first request to last bite

1

Tell Us About the Event

Date, guest count, venue, vibe and cuisine ideas. Mention building rules, insurance requirements or a street closure if your site needs one.

2

Compare Real Menus

Browse verified New York trucks with actual menus and per-person pricing, or let us shortlist for you.

3

Place the Order, the Truck Accepts, Then You Pay

Pick your trucks and place the order. Nothing is charged until the trucks accept your date; then your coordinator handles permits, placement and timing with the venue.

4

Enjoy the Event

The trucks arrive ready to serve, your guests eat well, and the vendors clean up. One invoice per event, or none with attendee-paid service.

Local Expertise

Greater New York Event Catering Experts

New York's event map runs from Brooklyn rooftops and Manhattan plazas to Long Island backyards, Hudson Valley barns, Jersey Shore venues and Fairfield County estates, and every jurisdiction treats a truck differently: the city through DOHMH, Parks and Street Activity permits, and each New Jersey and Connecticut town on its own terms. Our coordinators handle that so you can host. See the New York food truck catering guide for pricing by event type, then request quotes from the trucks that fit your crowd.

Best Times to Book in Greater New York

Plan around the metro's calendar for the best selection

Summer (June-August)

Peak season for rooftops, waterfront parks, backyards and the Shore. Graduation parties run into July, summer Fridays fill with company outings, and the US Open closes out August. Book early for a weekend date; a weekday lunch needs far less.

Fall (September-November)

The best weather of the year through October and the region's peak wedding season, from Hudson Valley barns to Long Island vineyards. Marathon Sunday in early November and the week before Thanksgiving tighten availability.

Winter (December-February)

Holiday parties fill December. January and February have the best availability of the year, served from covered docks, garages and indoor-adjacent setups.

Spring (March-May)

Weather turns by late April, when parks and plazas reopen for events. Commencement season across dozens of campuses makes late May and June the tightest windows of the year.

New York Event Catering FAQs

Questions Greater New York hosts ask most often

How much does food truck catering cost for an event in New York?

New York is a new market on Food Truck Club, so the figures are platform-wide medians from paid bookings: about $18 per person before tax, with most events between $14 and $24. A party for 100 to 149 guests typically totals about $1,950 including setup, service and cleanup, and one for 200 to 299 guests about $3,120. Each truck shows its own per-serving price and minimum on its profile.

What is the minimum order?

Most trucks set a dollar minimum rather than a guest minimum, and the platform-wide median is around $750. If your per-person total falls under it you pay the minimum instead. Tell us your headcount and quotes will come from trucks that fit.

How far ahead should I book a graduation party or wedding?

Graduation parties cluster from late May through June across Long Island, Westchester, North Jersey and the five boroughs, so book early for those dates. Weddings peak from May through October, with Hudson Valley and North Fork dates going first. Weekday events and winter dates are far more flexible; a couple of weeks of notice covers most events, and week-of works more often than not.

Can a food truck park at my New York City venue?

Almost always, with the right placement. Public curb space is rarely an option because street vending needs a scarce DOHMH mobile food vending permit, so events happen on private property, a building plaza or loading dock, in a park with an NYC Parks permit, or on a closed street with a Street Activity Permit. A truck needs a level spot about 25 feet long with 12 feet of clearance. Tell us the venue and we coordinate access, arrival windows and whatever permit applies.

Do you handle permits in New Jersey, Westchester, Long Island and Connecticut?

Yes. Each town and county outside the city licenses mobile vendors on its own terms, from Jersey City and Montclair to Hempstead, White Plains and Stamford. Trucks in our network carry the permits for the municipality your event is in, and on private property the owner's approval is usually all that is needed. Tell us the address and we confirm what applies.

What happens if it rains or snows?

Trucks serve in all weather. For rain, guests order under a tent or covered area; for winter, garages, covered docks and indoor-adjacent setups work well so guests order at the window and eat inside. Your coordinator confirms a contingency with the venue before event day.

How many trucks do I need?

One truck comfortably serves about 100 to 150 guests over two hours. For larger events we recommend two or three trucks with complementary menus so lines stay short and guests have variety. Each truck you add carries its own minimum.

Do trucks serve the Hamptons, the Hudson Valley, the Jersey Shore and Connecticut?

Coverage runs the five boroughs, Long Island out to the East End, Westchester and the Hudson Valley up to Poughkeepsie and Kingston, North and Central New Jersey down to the Monmouth County shore, and Fairfield County into New Haven. A travel fee may apply for venues farther out; mention the town and quotes will reflect it.

New York is a new market for Food Truck Club. How are trucks vetted?

New York is one of our newest markets and the roster is being built truck by truck. Every vendor is vetted before their first booking: health permits and insurance certificates confirmed, menus and pricing reviewed, and the operator interviewed about capacity and communication. Post-event reviews feed into the same rating system that averages 4.8 stars across 640+ reviews nationwide, and every booking is covered by our Satisfaction Guarantee.
