Our food truck was opened to make my parents’ wish come true and to share our family’s authentic birria recipe with our community. Every dish is made with the flavors and traditions that have been passed down through our family.

Smoked brisket plates and loaded dogs that make people line up. I run brisket, pulled pork, the Chubz Dirty Dog, and a few surprise fusion items. I do boxed lunches for crews and meetings. I cater on-site service for one big table, an office lunch, or a backyard cookout. I keep options for vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-free folks. Halal choices are available by request. I’m veteran owned and I treat events like missions, not ceremonies. Portions are honest and the plates come how they come, no pretense. If you need straightforward BBQ with some fusion twists and boxed lunches that feed a crowd, I’ll show up and feed them. We are equipped with any type of equipment to get the job done. Both of our trucks are equipped with electric hot boxes, this ensures ur food stays and food safe temps to ensure quaility and safety. Our trucks are also set up for speed to get people served in under a minute time frame. With large crowds I always recommend setting up buffet style we have the equipment an team to handle both type of events. Our can change to any type of food you desire at your event. From busget friendly all the way up to plated high end meals with that chef style touch to it.

Happy Streets is based in Lake Orion, MI and operates out of a restored 1973 Chevy P10. Our goal is to bring good old fashioned fun to both kids and adults. While we cruise through neighborhoods in the evenings and on weekends, we also serve birthday parties, corporate gatherings, neighborhood events, etc. We carry many of the classic pre-packaged novelty ice cream treats you may remember from your childhood as well as some newer options. We also have a selection of items for our dairy-free, gluten-free, and nut-free guests. Additionally, we offer a variety of candy and other treats. Because our treats don't require prep time, our truck is a great option for a quick treat break or as an add-on with other meal trucks.

In 2014, the Hero or Villain food truck was launched in the Metro Detroit area. Since then, Richard and his team of superhumans have been serving up sandwiches with a side of nostalgia everywhere they can. This super-powered concept has become a regular at rallies in Cadillac Square, Eastern Market, Ann Arbor, Royal Oak and Ferndale. In 2019, Hero Or Villain was listed as one of the top 25 food trucks in America, by Food Network.

Steam rising off a wok and the smell of hot noodles at the window. People come for our traditional Hawaiian yakisoba noodle dish, simple and filling, and often add the chicken. I keep the line moving. I run a compact setup built for fairs, concerts, and private events, so service at your site is straightforward. We offer a vegan base that many customers choose, complete with the option of teriyaki chicken or our gluten free slaw. Portions are honest, served in fully compostable oyster pails, to eat standing or to take back to a table. I don’t over-polish things here, it’s a food truck after all, but I make sure orders are consistent and served hot. You’ll see us at food truck festivals and events around Michigan, Illinois, Texas, and Louisiana. If you need us for on-site catering I can bring the truck and the same menu that people line up for. Simple menu choices, clear options for special diets, precision knife skills, a steady wok, and most of all a fantastic flavor is what people remember.

Empanadas sell out quick! We are the only food truck of our kind in the Detroit Metro area. We are a Dominican and Latin Caribbean spot on wheels and empanadas, loaded plaintains, loaded fries and tropical ricebowls are what people usually come for. I also do pernil, and jerked chicken plates when the day calls for them. I keep options for vegans, vegetarians, and folks avoiding dairy or gluten. Halal choices are always available. I pack boxed lunches for work crews and events, simple and hearty. For fast paced events, I focus on straightforward dishes you can eat standing up or hand to a group. If you need on-site service for a lunch shift, or are looking to impress the crowd at your next party or gathering, I offer a versatile menu that can be adjusted to fit your event’s needs. At La Amapola, our food is Always fresh, Always delicious, Always new!

How we rank
How this list of Detroit trucks is ranked
These are the food trucks you can book for events across Metro Detroit, ranked by verified host reviews and recent bookings on Food Truck Club. Detroit is new on the platform, so ratings are still building and trucks without reviews yet are listed after the rated ones. Compare menus, per-person prices and minimums, then book a truck online.
Updated hourly from bookings on Food Truck Club
- 1
Rated by hosts
After every event the host rates the truck. Only trucks booked through Food Truck Club can be reviewed.
- 2
Weighted by volume
A long record counts for more than a handful of reviews, so a few perfect scores do not outrank dozens of great ones.
- 3
Ties go to recent work
Trucks with more confirmed bookings in the last 12 months rank higher. Trucks without a review yet come last.
Local know-how
Planning a food truck event in Detroit
Metro Detroit's trucks cover tacos and birria, smoked BBQ, Mediterranean shawarma and falafel, hot dogs and sliders, sandwiches, Spanish and Latin dishes, South Asian fusion, ice cream and coffee. The cuisine mix on this page updates as trucks join.
Each city in the metro sets its own rules for mobile vendors, and plants, office campuses and parks add their own. Tell the truck where it will park and what the site requires when you book. Every truck is reviewed and approved by our team before it can take bookings and carries its own health permit and liability insurance, with a certificate of insurance available on request.
For event ideas and costs by event type, start with the Detroit food truck guide, or browse every Detroit truck by cuisine.
Downtown, Midtown and Corktown
Office lunches, Wayne State events and gatherings around Campus Martius and Eastern Market; confirm curb or lot access and whether your spot needs a city street permit.
Dearborn and Downriver
Plant, supplier and office campus events; confirm gate access, badging and whether the site needs a certificate of insurance naming the property.
Oakland County office corridors
Troy's Big Beaver corridor, Southfield, Farmington Hills and Auburn Hills host office lunches and employee appreciation days; confirm with property management where the truck can park.
Macomb County, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti
Warren and Sterling Heights industrial sites plus campus events in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti; ask whether the site or campus keeps an approved vendor list.
- How is this list of Detroit food trucks ranked?
By host reviews. After each event booked through Food Truck Club, the host rates the truck. Trucks are ordered by their average rating, weighted by how many reviews it rests on, so a truck with a long record is not outranked by one with two reviews.
Ties go to the truck with more confirmed bookings in the last 12 months. Verified Detroit trucks without a review yet are listed after the rated ones, by recent bookings. The list updates hourly.
- Why do so few Detroit trucks have reviews yet?
Detroit is a new market on Food Truck Club. Ratings come only from hosts after their events, so they build as Detroit events are served and reviewed. Trucks without reviews yet are listed after the rated ones.
Every truck on the list was reviewed and approved by our team before it could take bookings, carries its own health permit and liability insurance, and is covered by our Satisfaction Guarantee.
- What do Detroit's top rated trucks charge per person?
Across bookings on Food Truck Club, the typical price is $18 per person before tax, and the middle half of events land between $14 and $24. The median minimum order is $750; an event for 100 to 149 guests typically totals about $1,950, and one for 200 to 299 guests about $3,096.
These are platform-wide medians, not local figures. Each truck on this list shows its own per-serving price and minimum, so compare those before you book, or see the food truck cost guide for how guest count and cuisine change the total.
- Can I book a specific truck from this list?
Yes. Open the truck's profile, check its menu, per-serving price and minimum, then pick your date and guest count, place the order online and pay.
If your first choice is not free on your date, pick another truck from this list or browse every Detroit truck. You can also tell us about the event and we'll match you with an available truck. See how it works.
- Can I book a Detroit food truck for a winter event?
Yes. Trucks serve through the winter, but guests order at the window and need somewhere warm to eat, so plan an indoor space next to the parking spot, a heated tent or a covered loading area. Confirm with the venue where the truck can park and run its generator, and ask the truck about its cold-weather setup when you book.
The dates that go first are summer weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day, when graduation parties, block parties and festivals compete for the same trucks, so book those early.
